Seller Note

This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was acquired by the current owner in 1985, and a 383ci V8 and a Tremec five-speed manual transmission were installed in 2017. Additional work included refinishing the exterior in white, reupholstering the interior in red, a disc brake conversion, and the installation of a VBP suspension kit. The car is equipped with a white convertible soft top, 16″ alloy wheels, power steering, dual Weber carburetors, an aftermarket AM/FM radio, and concealed headlights. This C2 convertible is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a car cover, spare parts, and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.

The fiberglass body left the factory in Ermine White (936) and was refinished under current ownership. Modifications included a third tail light was added on each side and the addition of a stinger-style hood. Additional features include a replacement white convertible soft top as well as flip-up headlamps, fender vents, side-exit exhaust pipes, and chrome bumperettes. The seller states that the left front fender was replaced or repaired under previous ownership, and blemishes on the windshield trim are shown up close in the gallery.

The 16″ American Racing Classic Torq Thrust II wheels wear polished spinners and are mounted with 215/60 front and 225/60 rear Goodyear Eagle GT tires. A VBP suspension kit was fitted in 2017 that included front and rear composite transverse monosprings, 2″ offset trailing arms, Bilstein shocks, front and rear sway bars, and adjustable rear strut rods. Power steering and a four-wheel power-assisted disc brakes system with a dual master cylinder and stainless steel lines were also added.

The cabin is trimmed in red, and refurbishment work in 2017 included the replacement of the leather seat covers, seat foam, carpeting, dash pads, and door panels. Amenities include a heater, a Pioneer AM/FM/Cassette stereo, an analog clock, rubber floor mats, and lap belts. Scratches are noted on the center console.

The replacement steering wheel has a crack and frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 64k miles, approximately 6k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 383ci V8 was installed in 2017 and is equipped with dual four-barrel Edelbrock carburetors, an Edelbrock intake manifold, Edelbrock cylinder heads, an MSD 6AL ignition control, an MSD tach drive distributor, an aluminum radiator, a plastic fan shroud, and polished Chevrolet-branded valve covers. Results from a dyno test are shown in the gallery below.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission that was fitted in 2017. The seller states that a Centerforce clutch, 3.36:1 rear gears, and replacement half shafts with greaseable u-joints were installed.
